Scoop the Poop

Scoop The Poop Campaign, our local dog-waste management program, has been in continuous operation since 2011.

Program concept: make it as convenient as possible for dog owners to clean up after their dog, and they are more likely to play their part to keep Old City’s sidewalks free of dog waste.

OCG volunteers service the 21 dog stations every day ensuring that the waste bag dispensers are full and the waste receptacles are emptied.

Managing the tremendous volume of waste collected and disposed of each day would not be possible without the support of certain commercial property management entities - Brandywine Construction & Management, Stonehenge Advisors & Property Management, Altman Management Company, and Old City District - who allow our volunteers access their dumpsters to dispose of the waste collected.

Program material (bags) expenses – over $5,000 each year – are funded by annual sponsorships* and contributions, small and large, made by Old City community members.
